Exalytics – Short introduction + Pricing

The Oracle Exalytics In-Memory machine was announced at Oracle Open World 2011. This machine is the first engineered in-memory analytics machine for BI applications.

Hardware
The machine is build with:

  • 4 Intel Xeon E7-4800 processors (10 cores each -> Total 40 cores)
  • 1 TB memory
  • Infiniband (to connect with Exadata)
  • 10 GB Ethernet
  • 1 GB Ethernet
  • 3.6 TB raw disk capacity

The disk capacity is used for the installed software and copying the memory to disk you can power off the Exalytics machine without loosing data.

Software
The machine consists of:

  • Optimized Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite
  • In-Memory analytics software
    • TimesTen for Exalytics
    • Memory optimized Essbase
    • Adaptive In-Memory tools
  • In-Memory analytics Hardware

Costs
