OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on DHCP host (Linux)

When installing OBIEE in a virtual machine I encountered some problems during installation.
This is because the IP adres can’t be the same for hostname and localhost during installation.

Contents of /etc/hosts before installing:
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 linux57

When installing the machine stops at the point Creating AS Instance.
In the log file error Can not resolve linux57 for interface any is located.

By changing the hosts file to:

Contents of /etc/hosts before installing – step 2:
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.1.18 linux57

the problem is solved.

Only a new error occurs when connecting to a new network with different IP ranges.

So I went to Oracle Support and found a patch (number 12530765). This patch resolves this error.
After applying this patch with opatch you can change the hosts file to:

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 linux57

Problem solved!
